For our client, a Belgian scale-up experiencing strong international growth, we are looking for a Freelance International Payroll Specialist. In this role, you will report directly to the HR Manager and take full ownership of the international payroll, from processing and compliance to process optimization and supporting new international offices.
Your Responsibilities:
- Process and review international payroll across multiple countries.
- Ensure correct application of collective labor agreements and local legislation.
- Set up and streamline payroll operations for new European entities.
- Manage employee files, contracts, policies, and monthly reporting.
- Optimize payroll processes and related documentation.
- Act as a sparring partner for management and support employees with payroll-related questions.
- Contribute to strategic C&B projects for the Belgian payroll (including cafeteria plan setup, salary benchmarking, job classification, pay transparency, mobility budget, etc.).
Your Profile:
- Proven expertise in multi-country payroll and HR administration, with experience collaborating with local payroll providers (In Europe, US and/or Asia).
- Strong knowledge of social legislation and sensitivities around international payroll.
- Experience in implementing C&B projects and/or working with “Employer of Record” or payroll providers is a plus.
- Fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is an advantage.
- Proactive, hands-on and self-driven mindset.
- Strong communication skills and a true team player.
