Freelance HR Business Partner – Brussels Region (Ref. 1408)

For the Belgian headquarters of a European market leader, we are looking for an experienced Freelance HR Business Partner. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Business Partners and act as the HR lead for a division of approximately 250 employees. You will serve as a strategic sparring partner for management (C-level, directors and line managers) and provide advice on organizational design, workforce planning, labor relations and change management in line with the HR strategy, business objectives and organizational needs.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic human capital plan.
  • Support organizational changes and restructurings within the business units.
  • Forecast workforce needs based on HR roadmap and workforce planning and develop plans for recruitment, internal mobility, development, retention and succession management.
  • Analyze HR data and workforce statistics, proposing actions on employee engagement, retention, turnover and absenteeism.
  • Collaborate closely with the Talent Team to ensure the right competencies and resources are in place to achieve business goals.
  • Evaluate and improve organizational agility, efficiency and process simplicity.
  • Advise and guide management on organizational design, resizing, governance, culture enhancement, change communication and implementation.
  • Monitor HR dashboards and reporting to identify trends, measure HR program impact (ROI) and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Proactively identify risks or challenges and work with HR Centers of Expertise to develop appropriate solutions.
  • Manage labor relations (main point of contact for union representatives, handle individual cases, anticipate union matters, maintain social peace and prepare union meetings in collaboration with the Labor Relations Manager).
  • Work closely with HR experts and operational HR officers who handle first-line support and administration.

 

Your profile:

  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner with knowledge of workforce planning.
  • Proactive and autonomous, with excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trust quickly.
  • Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
  • Experience with labor relations or unions is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Workday and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
  • Hands-on, structured, and project-oriented mindset.
  • Discreet, analytical, communicative and customer-focused with strong negotiation skills.
  • Team-oriented attitude and solid knowledge of social law.
